Indigo dyed lockspun yarn. I dyed a white fleece with yellow tips, so you get lots of color variety in this natural, eco friendly art yarn. Curly, rustic, lockspun, with tons of texture.
Supporting local farms is very important to me. I ONLY source fibers from local fiber farms raising sustainable, happy, healthy fiber animals. Whenever possible I try to know the name of every fiber-producing animal who contributes to my yarns! It is a delight and a joy to work with local fiber producers raising wonderful animals.
This is a pure and simple creamy white Lincoln wool lockspun yarn from the Lein farm flock in Iowa. I washed and picked these locks myself, then spun them into this gorgeous yarn. Perfect as is, to add texture and pop to any project! It also works well for weaving or felting, and makes great doll hair or dreadlocks!
I dyed these locks with indigo, a natural plant dye. The color has a richness and depth that cannot be conveyed by camera - it's incredibly rich and beautiful. There may be some crocking (color rub off) which is completely natural, and just part of using indigo dye.
I have spun and knit with lots of this Lincoln locks yarn, so if you want pattern ideas or suggestions, simply convo me!
50 yards; single ply bulky weight. 5.3 oz.
Often these yarns are completely one of a kind, but occasionally I might have doubles, or may be able to custom-spin larger amounts if you need. Please convo me if you have any questions or requests.
These yarns are spun in my home; I do my absolute best to keep my felines and housebunny out of the fiber, but please do be aware that these yarns are created in an pet-friendly home. After they are spun, tagged, photographed and listed on etsy, they "live" in my herb shop until they are sold, so they DO smell pleasantly of herbs - most people find this pleasant but if you think this might be objectionable, you have been warned :) .
SHIPPING! I did my best to make shipping affordable, and put in the weight and dimensions for every listing so etsy can calculate the best shipping rate for you - but the problem is, it doesn't work well. :/ The shipping seems to be accurate for one or two skeins, but more than that and it can be high. I will also refund you if there are shipping overcharges! So do not fret. Feel free to convo me if you need more exact information before you purchase, but I WILL always check and refund you any excess if needed.
Payment due upon receipt. I accept paypal, dwolla (convo me) and credit cards.
We ship via USPS Priority mail in the US, and USPS First class mail overseas. I'm always glad to ship anywhere in the world! Most packages shipped with in 1-3 business days of purchase.
We do accept refunds if you find the item unacceptable, but you must be in touch immediately after it's arrival, and you must pay to send the item back before receiving a refund on the item cost.
