I'm mostly a spinner...but I DO also love to knit. It's always extra fun to work with my yarn to create one of a kind handknitted goods. This cowl is a celebration of all the natural colors of white! Working with naturally colored fibers gives you an appreciation of all the subtleties and nuances of color, and I wanted to explore texture and color within the simplest palette of white.
Cowl knit from handspun fibers, mostly locally sourced - the exception being some fair trade sari silk strips. I knit this so the absolute softest 19.5 micron wool will be around the areas most likely to rest on your skin; but all fibers are quite soft! This is a loose cowl, designed to provide warmth but without feeling at all restrictive. These fibers have a lot of drape so it's very comfortable to wear. If you prefer a cozier, more snug cowl, please convo me. I can do that.
Other fibers used include locally sourced buttery soft mohair, and some suri llama and llama fibers, as well as some curly Lincoln lockspun wool.
I only use local animal fibers from small, sustainable farms, and fair trade sari silk products. This garment was handspun and hand knitted by me, and is one of a kind.
If you'd like this in a different color, convo me! Let's chat.
I keep all my yarns and finished goods in my herb store - so they DO smell of herbs. Most people find this pleasant, but if you are not a fan of natural herbal smells, please consider yourself warned!
